Hallmarking
Jalan Hallmarking Centre is recognised by Government of India, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and National Accrediation Board for Testing and Calibrating Laboratories (NABL). The centre is located at a very convenient location in New Delhi. It is equipped with the most advanced machines and testing equipments. The centre’s personnel are trained in Hallmarking by the Birmingham Assay Office, England. Our clientele includes some of the most reputed retailers and jewellers in India.
With the use of specialized tools, jigs and equipments, jewellery of all karats is hallmarked here, giving utmost attention to the delicate designs of the Indian handmade jewellery.
All articles received for hallmarking are first analysed on an X-ray fluorescence machine and thus the homogeneity of the batch is verified. Only those conforming to the declared purity are accepted for sampling and assaying. Hallmarking is using state of the art laser machines with rotary axis capable of marking any delicate or intricate designs.
Laser machines ensure that the marks are very legible. Even hard to reach areas can be hallmarked and all this is done with zero damage to the jewellery.
Assaying and Testing
We are the only assayer of precious metals, who works in accordance with NABL, BIS and Reserve Bank of India. We are certified precious metal assayers having a highly competent team of metallurgists. Comprehensive assaying complemented by accurate and timely service is perhaps the ultimate proof of our reliability. Our lab is the nominated referee lab for many importers and refiners of India.
We have an advent grade laboratory equipped with world class instruments and internationally recognised methods for assaying purity of gold and silver. The assay lab is recognized by the Government of India and Bureau of Indian Standards and is operating as per BIS Standards- IS: 1418-1999, which is at par with the international standards of fire assay. Our laboratory serves its clientele with XRF, Automatic potentiometric titrator and equipment for fire assay. Samples are evaluated to the highest level of accuracy. With high precision equipment, we possess premier professional standards of precious metals assaying.
Through constant monitoring and calibration, our fire assay results maintain an accuracy of 0.01% or 1/10,000, which is as good as best in the world. We take immense pride in mentioning that we have the capability to assay gold and silver of varied purity (From 0.5% to 99.99 %).
We are also on the panel of leading jewellery retailers of India, for managing and guiding them for product quality control. The lab functions in complete independence of the hierarchical structure of the factory, as well as from external influences and are qualified to determine the fineness of the material designated to the product coming from the melt, as well as to verify the conformity of the product of the melt.
